Bristol is about a 45-minute drive from some beautiful dog-friendly beaches on the north Somerset coast. Just two miles down from Weston-super-Mare lies Brean Beach, a seven-mile stretch of golden sand and dunes. It’s one of the longest stretches of sand in Europe and a popular spot for dog walkers. Other highlights in the area include Sand Bay Beach, Uphill Beach, Middle Hope Beach, and Ladye Bay.
Ashton Court Estate lies just outside the city and will have you feeling far from the buzz of the urban centre. There are 850 acres of open green space and woodland to explore, featuring pools and paved paths. Badock’s Wood is another great location for escaping to a green wilderness, with the River Trym at its centre and a wealth of woodland to enjoy. You’ll find Bristol’s largest area of woodland at Leigh Woods, which boasts an attractive glimpse of Clifton Suspension Bridge.
